The project and more specifically the idea of promoting Mehedinti-Vidin region as an integrated tourist product, as a common destination was further promoted at national tourism fairs in Bulgaria /Sofia Holiday and Spa fair in 13-15.02.2020, Veliko Tarnovo Cultural tourism fair in period 17-20.04.2019 / and Bucurest national tourism fair 14-17.11.2019.
International Congress on World Civilizations and Historic Routes
2nd International Congress on World Civilizations and Historic Routes was held in Sofia Hotel Balkan, Sofia, Bulgaria on 15-16 November 2018. In the frame of the forum were presented promotional materials developed under project 6 reasons to visit Mehedinti – Vidin cross-border area. Travel guide, touristic map and Craftsmen book were distributed among stakeholders and visitors of the congress and additional information for the possibilities for tourism in the target region was given to the visitors.
Recognizing the importance of cultural heritage and tourism, the 2nd International Congress on World Civilizations and Historic Routes address the possible ways in which world civilizations could be brought to life through tourism, in particular by making use of the networks developed along historic routes. The congress explore how tourism along these routes can play a leading role in creating new socio-economic opportunities for development at local, regional and national level while safeguarding and promoting tangible and intangible ancient heritage.
Annual Conference of the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme
On September 27th 2018, the Joint Secretariat of the Programme (Cross-Border Cooperation Regional Office Calarasi for the Romania-Bulgaria border – CBC RO Calarasi) in collaboration with the Managing Authority (Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration in Romania) and National Authority (Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works in Bulgaria) organize the Annual Conference of the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme in Craiova, Romania.
The main focus of the agenda for the conference was on the results achieved by the successful projects financed by the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme, making the results more visible.
Representatives of Pro-Mehedinti Association presented the project “6 Reasons to visit Mehedinti – Vidin cross-border area”, the results and activities. Also one touristic movie realized during the project was presented to the participants at the conference.
Outside the conference room the Pro Mehedinti Association team exhibited the touristic objectives done under the project by the artisans participants at the handicraft workshops.

Joint Secretariat for Interreg V-A România-Bulgaria within Cross-Border Cooperation Regional Office Calarasi for the Romania-Bulgaria Border (CBC RO Calarasi) in partnership with Managing Authority and National Authority, organized in Balchik (Bulgaria) the Annual Conference of Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme on 16th of November 2017.
The conference started with the presentation of the most important achievements of Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme, focused on the 3 calls launched and the 82 projects in implementation. On information deck were presented promotional materials developed under project 6 reasons to visit Mehedinti – Vidin cross-border area. Travel guide, touristic map and Craftsmen book were distributed among stakeholders and visitors of the conference and additional information for the possibilities for tourism in the target region was given to the visitors from team members of RPSD – Vidin.
